THAYER CENTRAL COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

Thayer Central Community Schools in Hebron, NE, is an accredited pre-k to grade 12 educational institution with an enrollment of approximately 450 students. High levels of achievement on annual state and national test scores indicate a strong academic program is in place in the school. Strong instructional programs in core subjects that are supplemented with a variety of state-of-the-art programs such as video production, robotics, agriculture, yearbook, and music, to name a few, help provide students with a well-rounded educational opportunity. Thayer Central High School received national recognition for excellence in its selection as a Bronze-level school in the 2016 U.S. News and World Report Best High Schools, its fourth consecutive year to earn this recognition.

Extracurricular Activities

Students are also able to enjoy a wide variety of extracurricular activities and have been very competitive in NSAA competition. In its 15 years of existence, the Titans have brought home eight state championship or second-place trophies. In 2012, the school was selected as the U.S. Cellular Cup Award Winner (best in class) for the state for class C-2.

The Rising Stars Early Childhood Program


The Rising STARS Early Childhood Program is a partnership between Thayer Central Public Schools and Thayer County Head Start/Blue Valley Community Action. Through the collaboration of our resources, nearly 32 children ages 3 and 4 will be served annually in the Rising STARS Early Childhood Program at Thayer Central Schools.

The Rising STARS Early Childhood Program will offer high-quality learning and play environment for all children regardless of ability, income or previous preschool experience.  The Rising STARS Program will assist children to reach their full potential and to increase the likelihood of children’s later success in school.  

Young children who participate in the Rising STARS Early Childhood Program will be enrolled in a center-based program located at Thayer Central Elementary. Children will be grouped in one of two early childhood classes and attend program sessions 3.5 hours per day, Monday through Thursday each week.
